The Law Annual Fund is an unrestricted, non-endowed fund account used by the Dean for the school’s highest funding priorities. The flexibility of the Law Annual Fund makes it possible for the Dean to finance scholarships and programs when other funding is scarce.
Expendable Funds can be used for a particular purpose in their entirety during a specific period of time.
Endowed Funds preserve the principal of the gift in perpetuity and invest it over time. On an annual basis a payout – generally about 5 percent of the principal – is distributed for the purposes designated by the donor. Excess earnings are reinvested each year so that the principal, and hence subsequent payouts, grows as a hedge against inflation.
Gift Planning is the perfect way to provide long-term support to the Law School while satisfying personal financial-planning needs .
