Biography

A 1989 graduate of the William S. Richardson School of Law, Ramona came to the Law School from private practice with an emphasis on child advocacy. She has represented children in special education cases and as a Guardian ad Litem in the Family Courts of both Hawai‘i and Massachusetts.

During her years at Richardson, Ramona was President of the Student Bar Association (1988-89), and was active with the Student Divisions of Hawai‘i Women Lawyers and Advocates for Public Interest Law. She received Community Service Awards from both WSRSL and HICLE upon graduation in May 1989.

Ramona’s wider community activities include being a founding member and former Co-Chair of the Hawai‘i Green Party (1990-91), Board Member Hawai‘i Women Lawyers (1989-1993). Ramona has also been active with other community groups including, the Sierra Club, Girl Scouts, League of Women Voters, and Honolulu Friends Meeting (Quakers).
