Yamada v. Weaver, in which plaintiffs Jimmy Yamada et al. appeal a district court ruling pertaining to provisions of Hawaii’s campaign finance disclosure law that are intended to allow the public to determine the financial backers of campaign advertising. The district
court upheld some provisions but found that a contribution limit imposed by the law was unconstitutional as applied to the plaintiffs’ past and proposed contributions to a registered political action committee. A companion appeal deals with the district court’s order
