American Savings Bank Appoints Michelle Kim Stone '01 as General Counsel

HONOLULU –American Savings Bank (American) has promoted Michelle Kim Stone to General Counsel.

Stone joined American in 2007 as an Associate Counsel. She was promoted to First Vice President, Managing Attorney in 2008 and to Senior Vice President in 2010. As General Counsel, Stone is responsible for rendering opinions and advice to American on legal matters and will continue overseeing the Bank's Legal Department and outside legal service providers.

Stone has been an attorney for over ten years. Just prior to joining the bank, she was a commercial litigation associate at Starn O'Toole Marcus & Fisher. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Richardson School of Law where she was the 2000 and 2001 National Native American Moot Court Champion. She also received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UH Manoa and is a graduate of Punahou School. Stone has served as a Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem for the Hawaiʻi State Judiciary and a past Board Member for Kumu Kahua Theater.
