Patsy Mink: Ahead of the Majority
In conjunction with the 2010 Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the National Mall and its theme of Asian Pacific American Connections, we present this 2008 documentary film biography of Patsy Takemoto Mink, who in 1965 became the first woman of color in the U.S. Congress. A film by Kimberlee Bassford. (56 minutes.) This program is presented in partnership with Hawaiʻi Women Lawyers. VP/President-elect Ruth Oh will introduce the screening.
