Professor Randall Kennedy
On Wednesday, January 17, 2007, President McClain and Wendie McClain and Dean Avi Soifer and Marlene Booth are hosting a private reception at College Hill to honor the Frank Boas Visiting Scholar Randall Kennedy, the Michael R. Klein Professor of Law from Harvard Law School. Through the generosity of Fank Boas and his annual gift of $25,000, each January a member of the Harvard Law Faculty is selected as the Frank Boas Visiting Scholar to teach at the William S. Richardson School of Law during its special 4-week January Term. Kennedy has been a professor of law at Harvard Law School for over twenty years and recently was named the Michael R. Klein Professor of Law since 2005. He isa premier scholar in the areas of racial equality, politics and society, who has published severl nationally acclaimed books and many articles. Kennedy received degrees from Princeton University, Oxford University and Yale Law School. Also being recognized at the reception are the January Term Visiting Scholars Professor Jack Balkin from Yale Law School, Professor Margaret Chon from Seattle University School of Law, Judge Jon O. Newman of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and Professor Rebecca Tsosie from Arizona State University.
