Short Course (8 classes): 3/10 - 3/20 Spring 2014 Semester Class Description: The one credit course is designed to acquaint law students with the opportunities and challenges encountered by lawyers who choose to serve businesses, as employees, advisors or in other capacities. The course will introduce students to business information sources, both general and specific to an individual business. Students will learn about business organization, governance, areas of specialization and the issues lawyers encounter in business environments. The course will include interaction with recognized leaders in business who have a legal background. The course will focus on the role of the General Counsel. A second credit will be offer to students seeking a further introduction to business topics.
