Saudi Arabia
Mohammad earned his LLB degree from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. While studying for his bachelor's degree, he participated on many projects as an intern with the Law Offices of Hani Al Qurashi. He has also participated in many conferences and seminars about how law is enforced and how it affects others. Most recently, he attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA to study English and obtain an IELTS certificate. After he completes the LLM Program, Mohammad seeks to obtain a doctoral degree and eventually to become a professor of law back in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia
Abdulrahman earned a degree in Islamic Law from the Islamic University of Madinah. He also began a Master’s course there in Common Law, but was awarded a scholarship from the government of Saudi Arabia to study English in Canada and pursue an LLM degree. While in Canada, Abdulrahman volunteered at PEN Immigration Consulting Services, interviewing clients, reviewing immigration-related matters and attended court proceedings. Abdulrahman plans to specialize in business & commercial law and eventually return to Saudi Arabia to work for an international corporation.
Canada
Gregg has a bachelor's degree in Administration from the University of Ottawa in Canada, a Master's degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City and an LL.B. from the University of Westminster in London, England. While studying in New York and London, he continued to work as an international investment adviser to the Hashiyoshi Land Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan, where he has lived and worked since 1986. After graduating from the LL.M. program, Gregg plans to return to Tokyo to practice as a foreign attorney.
China
Wensheng has been certified as a lawyer in China since 1995, and served as the Corporate Contracts and Planning Management Administrator for Huaneng Power International, Fuzhou Branch. He also practiced as a part-time attorney and counselor at Minhang Law Office for about eight years, handling civil, criminal and administrative matters. In 2002, Wensheng moved to New York, where he owns an IT service business, which served the city’s Department of Education and Abacus Federal Savings Bank's. Wensheng earned a bachelor’s degree in law from Xiamen University, and a postgraduate certificate on Civil & Commercial Law from Tsinghua University. He also completed a law program at Fujian TV University. After the LLM Program, Wensheng seeks to open an international law office.
Bulgaria
Elmira earned a bachelor’s degree in law from Sofia University Law School, which is the first school of higher education in Bulgaria. She also earned a Master’s degree in International Law and a second Master’s in International Relations from Sofia University. Elmira was the first foreign student to intern at the Bulagarian Parliament. She also did a second internship at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department Latin America and Asia). Elmira is fluent in English, Bulgarian, and Turkish. After she completes the LLM. Program, Elmira plans to work for the U.N. in Geneva in environmental law and take the New York State bar examination.
  Slovakia
Katarina
earned her bachelor’s degree in law from Bratislava’s School of Law and a Master’s degree in International Law from Paneuropean University in Slovakia. While studying, she gained pracitical experience doing an internship at DEDAK&Partner, s.r.o. Katarina is fluent in English, Czech, Polish and German. After the LLM Program, she plans to return to Slovakia and start her career as a junior associate at a law firm.
Taiwan
Tsun-Chen is a judge in Taiwan Chiayi District Court, whose jurisdiction covers Chiayi City and County, with a population of over 850,000. From 2000 to 2005 Tsun-Chen worked in the criminal court, specializing in sexual abuse cases. From 2007 to 2009, she worked in the Summary Court. Throughout her career, she has also worked in the civil court, mainly dealing with family law cases. Tsun-Chen earned her LL.B from National Chengchi University. After the LLM Program, she will return to Taiwan and continue her work as a judge. She aims to enhance her abilities as a judge by broadening her perspective this year.
Korea
Duck Mi earned her a bachelor’s degree in law at Open Cyber University in Seoul, with a focus on social welfare and human rights. Duck Mi also started a graduate program in International Legal Affairs at Kyung Hee University in Seoul. Most recently, she has been volunteering for Hospice Hawaii, where she is frequently exposed to the many legal problems faced by the elderly and their families. She hopes to use her legal training to assist and advise such people in need and provide meaningful assistance to them. After earning her LLM degree, she plans to take the New York State bar examination, and to work for an international organization in Korea, specializing in social welfare and human rights law.
Saudi Arabia
Alaauldeen earned his bachelor’s degree in law from King Abdul Aziz University. He then worked as a contracts coordinator for Zuhair Fayez Partnership for two years, drafting contracts and managing new tenders. Most recently, Alaauldeen has been serving as an investigator for the Saudi Ministry of Labor, investigating worker cases and company labor policies. After the LLM Program, Alaauldeen plans to return to the Ministry of Labor and use the knowledge that he acquires towards improving the Ministry.
Switzerland
For the lasts two years Alexander has been working as an associate attorney-at-law at Gloor & Sieger, a Zurich-based international business law firm. He served on the firm’s litigation and arbitration team, as well as their corporate and commercial team. He has represented mostly commercial clients before the court, acted as secretary to international arbitral tribunals and advised on matters relating to commercial contracts and corporate affairs. Previously, Alexander worked as a court clerk in Zurich and as a junior associate attorney with another large Swiss business law firm. Alexander studied law in Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand and holds a Master's degree in law from the University of Zurich. He is a member of the Zurich and Swiss Bar Associations. He is fluent in English, German and French. After the LLM Program, Alexander intends to take the New York bar examination and continue working as an attorney in Switzerland.
Cook Islands
Moana is Senior Legal Counsel for Cook Islands Trust Corporation Ltd, one of five Trust Companies in the Cook Islands. The Company handles a wide range of estate planning matters, including integrated estate planning structures with a focus on Asset Protection Trusts. Moana specializes in tax compliance, banking and international finance. She earned her LL.B from the University of Waikato, New Zealand, in 2005, and she is admitted to practice law in both New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Moana is also a Cook Islands Notary Public and serves as an executive member of the Cook Islands Law Society. Moana is fluent in English and New Zealand Maori. After receiving her LL.M. degree, Moana seeks to join an estate planning law firm in Hawaii.
USA
Camille has been working as an associate in a leading Arab law firm in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the past three years, advising clients on real estate and construction disputes, participating in property arbitrations, assisting clients in recovering debt, forming onshore and offshore companies, and advising banks on various matters ranging from facility agreements to intellectual property disputes. While living in the Middle East, Camille started a popular blog about Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Islamic law and won a prestigious International Bar Association (IBA) scholarship. Camille has law degrees from Australia and the UK and has legal certifications from China, Italy, and Dubai, UAE. She is currently admitted in Australia, New Zealand, and the Dubai International Financial Center Courts and has a B.A. (Honors) degree from Colgate University in New York and a post-graduate diploma in World Politics from the London School of Economics. After the LLM Program, she hopes to qualify in the UK and the US.
