Law School Initiates Relief Effort for the Typhoon Victims in the Philippines

Dean Avi Soifer sent the following announcement to the Law School community today:

"We share grief at the devastation wrought by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines and, in fact, some members of our community have family and close friends among the victims. 
Please consider contributing to relief efforts through the American Red Cross.

Kristi Shiraki ( has agreed to be the clearinghouse for your contributions.
Checks may be made out to:  American Red Cross, Hawaii State Chapter, with "Philippine Typhoon" on the memo line.

Our Filipino Law Students Association (FLSA), through President Khara Jabola-Carolus, is supporting this Law School effort and also working to coordinate alternate ways  to support “on the ground” relief.  Khara encourages you to contact her at for further information."
