 What to Wear

Please see the Orientation Schedule for details.

Where to Park

You may park in Zone 20 Lower Campus Parking Structure located directly behind the Law School (see light green rectangles on this map).  The cost is $5.  Do not park in Lot 17 next to the Law School.  You may be ticketed.

What to Bring

Notebook and Pen You will not need to bring your laptop to Orientation, unless you plan to use it for the Richardson Homework (see above).
Government-issued photo ID You will need this to apply for a UH student ID card.
Student Bar Association Dues These mandatory dues fund many student-run events and organizations.  Please bring cash or a check made out to the Student Bar Association (1Ls $65, LLM/Transfers/Visitors/UBC $20).  If you have questions about the SBA or these dues, please email the SBA President at parisa@hawaii.edu.
Valid Driver's License to Pick-Up Parking Permit (if applicable)

After paying online for a Zone 20 parking permit, you will receive instructions for picking up your parking permit from the old Campus Mailroom (see map.pdf).   See Student Permits.

If you ordered a monthly, evening permit, you may pick it up after you register and get your validated Student ID card at the Lower Campus Parking Structure, East West Center, or Bachman Lot guard shacks during Orientation.

Parking permits are not transferable; any such transfer is subject to disciplinary action.

Used law school guides and LSAT preparation materials (optional) We will collect the used books at Orientation for the UH Mānoa Pre-Law Advising Center (PAC), a walk-in resource center for UHM students who are interested in law. PAC Director Ruth Bingham and her student staff do a lot with a little.
Lock At Orientation, you may sign-up for a locker to store your books and belongings during the school year.  You may want to bring a lock so that you can begin to use it immediately.

Big Brothers/Big Sisters

After Orientation, the Student Bar Association will pair each of you with a current law student (2L or 3L).  Assignments will be emailed to you after the semester begins.
