Why did you choose UH Law? I chose to attend UH Law because I really liked the small, family feel that I experienced when I visited. I felt like this law school really cared about me as an individual. I also thought the students seemed very close-knit and really cared about one another.
What were you doing before you started Law School? I served as an Officer in the United States Coast Guard. I spent two years in Astoria, Oregon overseeing Search and Rescue in the Pacific Northwest. Then, for three years, I was the Executive Officer at Coast Guard Station in Monterey, California.
Where are you headed after you graduate? After taking the Hawai’i Bar, I hope to attend JAG school and then join a Coast Guard Legal Office.
Describe UH Law using three words. Happy, Dedicated, ’Ohana (Family).
What advice would you give to an entering law student? Take the time to make friends and have fun even when you feel busy and overwhelmed.
Which professor has most inspired you the most? Professor Beh. She is able to explain the law of contracts in such a manner that it made sense and made me realize that if you take the time, you can bring anything down to a level that is understandable.
Where is your favorite place to study? The beach when it is not too windy.
Where can we find you when you’re not in class? On a running trail or out on the beach.
How would you describe your classmates? Intelligent, caring, and friends that I will have for a lifetime.
